Aktualisiert: 1. März 2020
The Innovation Prize of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is one of the most important German research prizes – it is awarded in three categories. Jülich biotechnologists Georg Schaumann and Stephan Binder from the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences will receive the 50,000 euro prize in the category of young scientists. This was announced today by Science Minister Svenja Schulze. The two young entrepreneurs will be honoured for their sensor technology “SenseUp”, which enables them to quickly and efficiently find highly productive microorganisms that produce valuable basic building blocks for food and nutrition from renewable raw materials. The Innovation Prize will be awarded on 29 February in Düsseldorf.
